WiFi Extender to Shed
Extend Your Starlink WiFi to Your Shed
Need reliable WiFi in a shed that is too far away from your Starlink router?
Starlink Install Gippsland can extend your Starlink network from your home to a nearby shed, workshop, garage, bungalow, dairy shed or other building — and we can extend it even further across multiple sheds or buildings on the same property.
Rather than relying on a basic plug-in WiFi extenders or a Mesh system that struggles through walls (especially brick and tin) and over long distances, we design a proper network extension suited to your property using a Point to Point system.
Whether your shed is 20 metres from the house or several hundred metres away, we can assess the distance, buildings, terrain and what you need to connect before recommending the right solution.
Get Proper WiFi Inside Your Shed
A Starlink router may provide excellent internet around your home, but sheds and outbuildings can be difficult to reach.
Metal walls, insulation, distance and other buildings can significantly reduce a WiFi signal. Even when your phone shows one or two WiFi bars in the shed, the connection may be too unstable for equipment that needs to remain connected continuously.
We can extend your Starlink network into the shed and install a dedicated WiFi access point inside, providing strong local coverage where you actually need it.
This can be used for:
- Phones, tablets and laptops
- Smart TVs and streaming
- Computers and workshop equipment
- CCTV cameras and NVRs
- Solar inverter monitoring
- Smart farm equipment
- Machinery and equipment monitoring
- VoIP phones
- Printers and office equipment
- Smart switches, controllers and IoT devices
- EFTPOS and business systems
- WiFi calling in areas with poor mobile reception
Extend Starlink to Multiple Sheds
For larger rural properties, extending the network doesn’t have to stop at one building.
We can design a network that distributes your Starlink connection between your house, sheds, workshops, offices, accommodation and other buildings.
For example:
Starlink at the House → Main Shed → Workshop → Second Shed
or
Starlink at the House → Shed 1 + Shed 2 + Bungalow
Each building can have its own properly positioned point to point link, providing usable WiFi inside and around that area rather than trying to stretch one WiFi signal across the entire property.
The result is one professionally designed network using your existing Starlink internet connection.
WiFi Coverage Inside Metal Sheds
Metal sheds are particularly difficult for WiFi.
Even if a strong signal reaches the outside of the building, Colorbond and other metal construction materials can substantially reduce the signal inside.
For this reason, we commonly extend the network to the shed and then install an access point inside the shed.
This gives devices a strong local WiFi connection rather than forcing them to communicate with the Starlink router back at the house.
One Starlink Connection, Multiple Buildings
In many situations you don’t need a separate Starlink service for every shed.
A properly designed network can allow your existing Starlink connection to service multiple buildings around the property.
This can be particularly cost-effective for farms, large residential properties and businesses where several nearby buildings all require internet access.
We can also configure different WiFi networks where required, allowing certain buildings or users to be separated from your main home or business network.
Already Have Starlink?
That’s fine.
We can extend an existing Starlink installation even if we didn’t originally install it.
We can assess your existing Starlink router and network, determine the best way to connect the additional building, and install the required networking equipment.
