The Starlink Gen 3 dish offers a more modern design, improved router performance, built-in Ethernet ports and Wi-Fi 6 capability. Unlike the Gen 2 dish, the Gen 3 dish does not use a motor for automatic movement, which can help reduce the risk of mechanical failure as the system ages.

Is a Starlink Gen 2 to Gen 3 Upgrade Plug and Play?
No. A Gen 2 to Gen 3 Starlink upgrade is not usually a direct plug-and-play replacement. The mounting hardware, cabling and connector requirements can be different. In many cases, the existing cable route can still be used, but the cable may require changes or new termination. A professional installation helps ensure the system is mounted securely, connected correctly and tested properly.
Mounting Compatibility
The Starlink Gen 3 dish uses a different mounting interface compared with Gen 2. Your existing mount may not be suitable, so a new roof mount, wall mount or pole mount may be required.
Cabling Requirements
The Gen 3 system uses updated cable and connector arrangements. Depending on your property, we may be able to reuse the existing cable route, replace the cable, or complete a suitable termination.
